Man Coming Home Late Films Dog’s Expression, Compares It to Having a Wife

A pet parent who returned home later than expected made a bold comparison regarding the dog’s reaction, which left social media viewers cracking up.

In the November 7 video posted to the TikTok account @deano19812, the owner walked into his house and found his canine sitting on the doggy bed with the biggest frown plastered across his face. He didn’t stick to the schedule he had mentioned to his dog, and, knowing that, the owner immediately started apologizing. He tried explaining he had shopping to do, but the dog didn’t care. The tardiness, even if it was only 15 minutes, was not appreciated.

Sick of hearing the excuses, the dog finally put his head down. He’d had enough of what his owner was saying to him. He wasn’t going to accept the apology, at least for now. The dog needed his owner to think about what he did.

However, the “moody” reaction to his being late made the owner compare his dog to having a wife. Somehow dogs are a bit more strict.

The text on the video reads: “Worse than having a wife.”

The man compared the dog’s reaction to a wife who would’ve been up in arms over his lateness. Except this is worse in his eyes. Who would want to disappoint their fur baby?

The TikTok video had amassed over 717,700 views, 132,600 likes and 663 comments as of Tuesday. Viewers couldn’t get over how expressive the dog was toward his owner.

“Aww his little face. He sad. I hope you remembered his treat,” one person wrote.

A second added: “Yeah, that was definitely much more than 15 minutes late. I can tell. You gotta do better. Poor dog. Tax on that is a lot of cuddles and snacks.”

Another commented: “The problem is clear there isn’t communication.”

Wanting justice for the dog, someone said: “He needs a written an apology and 2-3 working days notice next time.”

Luckily, the owner didn’t come home to the destruction or chaos that some pet parents experience. Dogs sometimes show frustration about being home alone by chewing on couches and shoes or ripping up pillows.

He also should be thankful he didn’t get an earful from his dog about his tardiness. One owner recently sat in bed while her dog complained, going on and on about her being two hours late.

Even so, the TikTok dog’s disappointment did speak volumes.
