Hosted by “ugliest dog” star Peggy, a winner of Britain’s ugliest dog contest, submissions are welcome through next month.
Peggy’s popularity shot to superstardom after playing “Dogpool” in Marvel’s smash hit “Deadpool and Wolverine” with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Peggy, who has a signature tongue-hanging look, found a second life as an advocate for “ugly dogs” and pet rescue. Now she’s enjoying the spotlight after her pawsome appearance in the third “Deadpool” film, one of 2024’s biggest box office hits.
If you got a new pet during the 2024 holiday season, consider entering him in USA’s Favorite Pet contest. The (Fort Myers, Florida) News-Press is part of the USA TODAY Network, which is running the contest.
Through Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, we invite you to submit your best friend to be USA’s Favorite Pet by applying below. Have a photo and story about your pet ready to go. The winner will receive $5,000 in cash, a $5,000 gift card to your favorite pet store and $5,000 to the winner’s charity of choice that benefits animals. Plus, you’ll be featured in USA TODAY.
