An audio clip of a purported conversation between Goldy Brar, a Canada-based gangster, and a DSP of Punjab’s Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF), Bikram Singh Brar, has surfaced online in which the former is heard threatening the cop of planting “informers” in his gang.
Son of a former Punjab Police assistant sub-inspector, Satinderjit Singh aka Goldy Brar, faces many charges, including masterminding the May 2022 murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala.
In the call, Bikram is heard telling Goldy that he had received “several calls” from that number on the preceding night but did not take the call as it was an “unknown number”, suggesting the gangster made several calls to the officer before the two finally spoke.
Brar said the police are acting as per law and would not spare anyone indulging in crime or illegal activities.
DSP Brar cautioned Goldy: “We do our duty. For us, you or any other gangster or any dog or donkey or horse are the same (sic). You all will get the same treatment if you don’t mend your ways.”
He also reminded Goldy how their gang member Ankit shot at minor girls to save himself from a police raid.
The Union home ministry had designated Goldy a terrorist on January 1, 2024.
In a notification, the ministry said Brar, backed by a Pakistan-based agency, had been involved in multiple killings and professes radical ideology.
He was accused of making threatening calls to pro-nationalist leaders, demanding ransom and posting the claims of killings on social media, the government said.
Earlier this year, the NIA named Goldy Brar and 11 others in a chargesheet for their alleged involvement in the killing of Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. Gogamedi was shot dead in his house at Shyam Nagar in Jaipur in December 2023.
A member of the banned Babbar Khalsa International, Brar has been involved in the smuggling of high-grade arms, ammunition and explosive materials through drones from across the border and supplying them for carrying out killings.
